My husband is an Exec at work now. He was invited to a BBQ. What is proper attire?

It's going to be company president, vices, and big execs. A lot of important people.... but it's a BBQ/swim party which seems pretty casual. It's for execs and spouses only. We aren't swimming, so what should he wear? What should I wear?
