Why do conservatives always claim the United Nations is "a waste of money and time"?

My neocon neighbor tells me this constantly! But when you point out that Bin Laden was killed as a direct result of intelligence collected from nations like Pakistan (who would not have offered the info of Bin Laden's whereabouts if they had not been members of the UN) he just denies that the UN had any hand at helping capture Bin Laden. It's obvious he is just racist and will do anything to keep President Obama from accepting the praise and credit that is due for the capture, but why do conservatives in general oppose unity organizations like the UNITED nations? Will racism of all colors and elasticities ever end??
